Amin Akbari

Amin Akbari is a Graduate Student Researcher at the Institute of Transportation, pursuing a Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of California, Irvine. Amin’s research focuses on electric vehicle charging infrastructure, charging station optimization, and the electrification of transportation systems. His work aims to make the transition to electric vehicles more practical and accessible for everyday users by addressing real-world challenges in charging availability and grid integration. He is particularly interested in how charging infrastructure can be optimized to serve diverse user needs while supporting grid stability and maximizing utilization of existing resources.

When he’s not working on research, you can find him enjoying all the hiking and traveling Southern California has to offer. Exploring new areas is just one of the many things Amin does to enjoy the present.
