Andre (Yeow Chern) Tok

As Testbeds Manager, Dr. Tok is responsible for maintaining the physical and virtual infrastructure for the Institute’s transportation Testbeds, which include the Freight Mobility Living Laboratory (FML2) and the Irvine Connected Vehicle Testbed. In addition to these responsibilities, Dr. Tok conducts research and provides administrative support at the Institute, including assisting with the development of grant proposals. His research interest is in the area of advanced traffic detection and freight transportation modeling. He has played a major role in the development of the California Statewide Freight Forecasting Model, and is a lead researcher on several research projects, including the aforementioned FML2 system. His current research includes developing new technologies to improve truck surveillance and freight transportation data and conducting a pilot study to estimate truck travel in the State of California.
