Kevin Roth’s expertise is in applied econometrics, microeconomics, and policy analysis. Prior to his departure in 2018, Dr. Roth was an assistant professor in the economics department at the University of California, Irvine. His research focuses on automobile and heavy trucking markets, infrastructure, and policy questions related to energy, transportation, and environmental quality. His research has been published in peer-reviewed journals such as American Economic Journal: Economic Policy and the Energy Journal, and has been covered in popular press outlets such as the Washington Post and the Los Angeles Times. He has implemented a variety of statistical techniques such as discrete choice demand estimation and quantile regression, employing software packages such as Stata, SAS, MATLAB, and QGIS.
