Abstract
Jiaqi Ma’s presentation explores how smart infrastructure and connected automated vehicles can improve traffic safety through real-time sensing and cooperative perception. Using the UCLA Smart Intersection, the research combines LiDAR, cameras, and other sensors to improve object detection, vehicle localization, and the identification of vulnerable road users. The study also examines cybersecurity risks to cooperative perception, highlighting both the potential of connected transportation technologies and the need to strengthen their reliability and security.
