Please see his obituary for more information about his life. The late Dr. Frank Haight (PhD, University of New Zealand) was one of the founding fathers of the modern field of transportation research. His formal education culminated in the field of probability theory and stochastic processes. He then pursued his profession at Auckland University, UCLA, The Pennsylvania State University, and University of California Irvine, retiring as a professor at UCI in 1998. Frank will be long remembered both for the insight and originality of his published works of science and for his editorial skill in exposing the deserving works of others, especially the young scholars he mentored throughout his long and distinguished career.
