Yufan Yang

Yufan Yang is a first-year PhD student at the Institute of Transportation Studies currently researching micro-transit system optimization. Yufan’s work with data processing, modeling, and optimization aims to minimize operational costs and passenger waiting times, improving overall ridership experience. 

After earning a PhD, Yufan hopes to become a full-time researcher specializing in traffic engineering. Yufan’s early research in shared mobility and public transit systems has instilled within him a passion for developing transit solutions that enhance efficiency and sustainability.

Yufan hopes the future of urban transportation is comfortable, flexible, accessible, and environmentally considerate. By translating research insights into practical solutions, Yufan takes one step closer towards his goal. 

When Yufan isn’t developing the transportation of tomorrow, you can find him playing basketball and poker with his friends or cooking new recipes.
