To the best of our knowledge Thomas Golob is retired from working. His most recent ITS biography is provided below.
Tom Golob has extensive experience in transportation research, having published more than one hundred journal articles and book chapters on the subjects of travel demand modeling, traffic safety analysis, and logistics. Before his retirement in 2012, Tom served as PI on more than twenty UCI projects sponsored in whole or in part by Caltrans. Prior to joining the UCI Institute of Transportation Studies in the 1985, he had more than fifteen years of international research experience, much of it focused on the design and analysis of transportation survey data. Over the past few years, the author has specialized in the application of structural equation modeling with discrete choice variables. Using such methods, models were developed that simultaneously describe household vehicle ownership and demand for travel to activities as a function of household characteristics and spatial factors.
